Solid gold
“Solid gold” is usually divided into full gold and millipede gold. The color is red yellow, soft and shiny. But absolute pure gold does not exist, as the saying goes, “gold is not red”. With the level of modern science and technology, reagent gold with a purity of 99.9999% can be extracted and specially used as a standard chemical reagent.
Due to the high production cost of reagent gold, it is of little significance to make jewelry from reagent gold only from the use value of jewelry. At present, there are three kinds of gold in the Chinese market: “four nine gold”, with a color of 99.99%; “Sanjiu gold”, the color is 99.9%, commonly known as millipede gold; “Twenty-nine gold”, the color is 99%, commonly known as full gold.
Gold Vermeil
Gold vermeil is a very robust type of gold jewelry. The base metal for your piece is sterling silver, so only precious metals were used to make it.
The base metal is then electroplated with a heavy coating of gold. Gold vermeil jewelry has a much thicker layer of gold despite sounding similar to gold-plated jewelry. It is therefore less likely to fade, tarnish, or wear away, in contrast to inexpensive gold-plated jewelry.
Gold-plated
Gold-plated jewelry is mostly made of silver or copper, and the surface plating is gold, replacing the original color of the original material with the luster of gold, thereby improving the ornamental value of the jewelry.
The gold content of gold plating shall not be less than 14K, and its thickness shall not be less than 0.5 microns.
Gold-plated jewelry is generally lighter in physique, harder when bent, and the thin-plated jewelry can be wiped sandpaper to reveal the base color, after fire, the color turns white is silver, and black is copper.
Gold-filled jewelry
Gold-filled jewelry is made of silver, copper, lead, zinc and other alloys to make blank tires, and then the gold leaf is firmly wrapped on the surface of the metal product matrix by mechanical or other methods to obtain a gold overlay, called gold-wrapped.
The gold content of the gold package shall not be less than 14K, and its thickness shall not be less than 0.5 microns.
